Sergeant Tosca is an amazing story both for Tosca and the shelter that went through incredible lengths to save her. She was given to Mt. Hope Kennel K9 Warrior Rescue in February 2014 along with 11 other military dogs by a contractor so they could be trained for further military missions. As the months went by, the contractor never paid for their care nor wanted the dogs back, and Mt. Hope still took care of each dog and gave them food and shelter at their own expense.

Once the contractor told Mt. Hope Kennel K9 Warrior Rescue to 'dispose' of the dogs as they were no longer needed for the missions, Mt. Hope began finding each military dog's handler so they could be reunited at long last. Unfortunately Tosca's handler could not be located, so Mt. Hope adopted her to give her the life that a veteran dog deserves. She still has skittishness following her three tours of duty, but Mt. Hope Kennel K9 Warrior Rescue has given her the best care and situation so that she can be happy and loved.

Tosca measures 10 inches tall and is soft, cuddly, and ready to be a part of any family. She also includes a vest that resembles her military harness that can be detached as well. During her service to this country, Tosca lost part of her tail while sniffing for explosives which is reflected on her plush Shelter Pet.
