Adopted: July 2016
Shelter: Toledo Area Humane Society
Original Name: Gerald
Hometown: Perrysburg, OH
We were going to the Humane Society just to look, to get an idea of what cats and kittens were available. Anyone with a heart for animals knows how that goes!
Nibbles was brought into the Toledo Area Humane Society, as a stray, along with with his two sisters and his brother. The tiny siblings became available for adoption in July 2016.
We fell in love with the two small balls of energy and brought them home the same day. We re-named them Nibbles and Simon.
Nibbles and Simon became fast friends with our dog Molly. Molly was also adopted from TAHS many years prior and took her role as her kitties' protective grandmother figure very seriously. We sadly lost our Molly due to old age this year and Nibbles has taken over her role as our family greeter and dinner table beggar.
Nibbles is a healthy, happy, snuggly cat. He loves food, sleeping in the sunshine, watching the backyard from his cat tree, chasing his brother up and down the stairs, and snoozing on a warm lap. We are thrilled to have him as part of our family.
We slowly made the rounds of the kitten room and our son spotted a small black and white ball of fur, mewing for attention. He immediately asked if we could see him. Then named Gerald, he was very excited to be released from the cage and was happy to play and snuggle with us. Soon after, our daughter spotted his brother, then named Duma, in the same cage, sleeping peacefully. We brought both kittens into a bonding room. It was all over then!
